Squish Painting

The kids painted planets using a "squish painting" technique.

First, they squirt paint on their circle.

 

 

Second, we put plastic wrap over the paint.

 

Then, we squished it!

 





And, ta-da! A swirling planet :)

 

 

Space Patterns

We used space pictures to make patterns. I found these great space stickers and made my own patterning cards. Super easy!

Feeding the Alien

Today we feed our alien. He likes to eat "spikey" pompoms. ;)

Alien Match

We have started our Space Unit! Today the kids matched aliens to their ship.

 

 

They used their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills to put the alien in the correct ship.

 

Heart Match

We have also started our Valentine's celebration a little early ;)

Today we matched colored and black & white hearts. The kids picked a heart-on-a-stick and tried to find the matching heart pocket.

 

 A couple of the hearts looked similar so they had to pay close attention!

 

Dental Health Month

We have started talking about Dental Health Month. Today we matched colored teeth and toothbrushes. We hung the teeth on the hook by the corresponding toothbrush.

Feeding the Penguin

There were some hungry penguins in our room today! We used tongs and Goldfish crackers to feed them. Each penguin had a corresponding number or number word to tell us how many fish they would eat.

Black and White Collage

The kids made a Black & White Collage using pieces of Construction paper and Contact paper. The Construction paper peels right off of the sticky paper, so they can make tons of different pictures!
