We are learning the basics about ten frames. Today we used magnetic ten frames to create matching frames. The kids picked a ten frame card and then created their own frames!
As a class we read the book All You Need for a Snowman by Barbara LaVallee.
We labeled the parts of a snowman as a large group.
The kids made their own perfect snowman and then labeled all the parts. Some kids were able to label the parts independently and others needed a little help!
A couple weeks ago, the kids used cinnamon sticks and oatmeal to practice their letter writing. (sorry I'm a little late posting!)
Some of our friends were not able to write many letters so they drew pictures in stead. Either way, they were improving their fine motor skills and preparing to be great writers!
I would be lying if I said I didn't squeal a little when the box was delivered! But look at it ... I mean, it is pretty awesome!
This table top light table gives us another great platform to practice a ton of different skills. The kids in the picture are using translucent cubes to sort and make patterns. Today we used the tablet to talk about same and different.
We have been practicing counting to 10 starting at different numbers. We have also been working on indentifying the numbers before or numbers after. We used these owl number sets to practice before and after.
